‘The Interview’ Owns Youtube and Tops Torrent Download

The Interview (2014) was released on DEC 25th in select independent theaters. However, the movie made its debut before planned release as VOD (video on demand) on Youtube, Google Play and XBOX Video on DEC 24th around 1PM EST.

Since its release, the movie has gathered more than 77.5 million views on YouTube so far (according to MarketWatch). At the time of writing this piece, the movie has also accumulated a large number of downloads through file-sharing. The recent number of estimated downloads had exceeded 750,000 after 20 hours (according to TorrentFreak).
